ECONOMICAL COOPERATION
The bilateral economical cooperation between Italy and Egypt is pertaining to the Commercial Office of the Embassy in charge of pursuing and promoting the economical and commercial relations between the two countries, maintaining direct relations with either the highest political and economical Egyptian authorities , or the utmost local enterprises.
For the promotion of the economical relations, the Commercial Office is collaborating with the Italian Trade Centre (ICE) in Cairo, that operates in Egypt also as Section of the Embassy for the promotion of exchanges.
In the last few years, Italy has been confirmed as the second economical partner (worldwide level) of Egypt; 1st partner in Europe ;second market for the exports; at the fifth place among supplying countries and one of the first countries for investments.
Italy supports the different enterprises that intend to invest in Egypt, in alignment with the European policy of partnership with the Mediterranean countries, that look for the creation of a large zone of free euro Mediterranean exchange in 2010.
The Commercial Office of the Embassy offers assistance to guide the Italian investors to approach the local market .For this purpose, a “Guide to Egypt for Italian companies, edited by this Office contains useful information on the Egyptian economy and the opportunities for the Italian enterprises. The guide can be consulted within this site or can be sent upon request.
Due to the close collaboration and coordination with the Italian Trade Centre (ICE) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, the Commercial Office assists the Italian companies to spot the business opportunities and to find solutions in case of difficulties and controversies. Boosted and supported by the Commercial Office, an Italian Egyptian Business Council has been constituted in 2006.
